Nepal first hosted the SAFF U18 Championship in 2015 and is also the most successful team winning the title twice. Now, India defending champions of the SAFF U18 champions of 2019 is ready to host the SAFF U19 Championship 2022.
This Championship has given a boost and rises to good and amazing players in all the South Asian countries.
Nepal got players like Bimal Gharti Magar, Anjan Bista, Hemanta, and Ananta Tamang who are really playing well for club and country.
Nepal won the 2015 and 2017 championships back to back but was not able to retain it for the third time. Nepal got knocked out of the group stage in 2019.
India was able to get their hand on the winner’s trophy in 2019 while Bangladesh despite being in the finals twice is not able to win this tournament.
Can Bangladesh win this year? or will remain on the losing end? India is hosting the tournament for the youngsters.

Saff U19 championship 2022 is a great opportunity for South Asian nations as they get to test themselves before the 2023 AFC U-20 Asian Cup qualification. Which is scheduled to be held in September 2022.
After Pakistan’s withdrawal and Afghanistan no longer being a SAFF member only 6 teams will participate in this tournament.
Nepal, India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Maldives, and Sri Lanka are fighting to win the title this year.
Only two groups will be formed where 3 teams each will compete and from that 2 teams will be qualified for the Knockout stage.

The first match of the tournament will be played on 25th July 2022 and the group stages match will end on 29th July 2022. Only group winners and runner-ups will advance to the next round.
