How to Use License Renew Calculator?

To get an instant price estimate, simply follow these steps:
- Choose Your Category: Select the vehicle category listed on your license.
- Select Expiry Date (AD): Enter the “Valid Upto” date found on the back of your license.
- Check Your Renewal Fee: View your estimated total, including the medical fee and any applicable fines.
Need to convert the date? If your license date is in Bikram Sambat (BS), you can easily convert it to English Date (AD) using our BS to AD Date Converter.
Tip for Multiple Categories: If you have licenses for multiple vehicles (e.g., both A: Motorcycle and B: Car), select the category with the higher fee. In this example, you would choose B: Car. You only need to pay the renewal fee for the most expensive category.
How the Calculator Works
The total cost to renew your license is calculated by adding three components:
- Basic Renewal Fee: Depends on your license category (e.g., Category A vs. Category B).
- Medical Fee: A mandatory fee for the color blindness test required during renewal.
- Late Fine: If your license has expired, a penalty is added based on how long it has been overdue.

Here is the breakdown of the fines:
| Time Since Expiry | Fine Percentage [in %] |
|---|---|
| After 90 days to 1 year | 100% of the renewal fee |
| 1 to 2 years | 200% of the renewal fee |
| 2 to 3 years | 300% of the renewal fee |
| 3 to 4 years | 400% of the renewal fee |
| 4 to 5 years | 500% of the renewal fee |
| After 5 years | License cannot be renewed |
Important Warning: If your license has been expired for more than 5 years, it cannot be renewed you must apply for new application.
