How many years can I work on an H1B visa?
You can work for up to 6 years on an H1B US working visa.
Initially, If you are selected for an H-1B visa, you will get 3 years working visa in the United States with your employer.
After that, you can renew your visa and extend it for 3 years.
Can I work for more after 6 years?
Six years is the maximum number of years you can stay in the US using this visa, but if you are an exception, then apply under sections 104(c) and 106(a) of the American Competitiveness in the Twenty-First Century Act (AC21), 8 CFR 214.2(h)(13)(iii)(D) and (E).
How many people get selected in the US H-1B lottery?
A maximum of 85000 people get this visa every year in the month of march. Here 65,000 are new statuses/visas each fiscal year, and 20,000 petitions are filed on behalf of beneficiaries with a master’s degree.

Yes, Your partner and any unmarried children under the age of 21 can come with you as dependents with an H-4 nonimmigrant classification.
