Create an account in DOTM Nepal | Driving License System

You can create an account on the Department of Transport Management‘s website to have online access to all driving license related work in Nepal.

You can also apply for an Urgent Smart Card driving license online if you have an account at DOTM | dotm.gov.np. According to officials, this service will print your license within seven days (conditions applied).

Apart from these, you can add or update all of your information by yourself.

How to Create an account in DOTM Nepal? | dotm.gov.np

To create an account in the Department of Transport Management, first of all, Visit https://applydl.dotm.gov.np/, then

1. Click on Sign up and Fill up the form.
2. Verify your mobile number with OTP
3. Update personal details
4. Update address
5. Update citizenship
6. Account is ready

You will not get the new driving license option if you do not verify or update your details and address and upload your citizenship certificate.

So, it is recommended that you follow all these steps. See the step-by-step guide with images to register an account at dotm.gov.np.

Click on Sign up and Fill up the form.

First, visit the Online Driving License System’s homepage: https://applydl.dotm.gov.np/, then click on Sign up.

Enter all your information correctly. These details are used and printed on your smart driving licence.

• Name
• Date of Birth, and
• Mobile Number

Now, click on Sign Up.

Verify your mobile number with OTP

The second step, check your mobile phone for a one-time password sent by DOTM Nepal’s license system..

After submitting all the information above, you will receive an OTP on your mobile phone. Enter the OTP and click on Confirm.

If you do not receive your OTP, click “Resend OTP.”

Update personal details

The third step is to update your profile. You are now on Driving License System’s homepage.

Here the First thing you should do is note your username. An SMS with your username is also sent to your phone. (Username Eg: 092221-221100-1234)

Keep your username safe, as it is used to log in to your account in the future, and if you lose it, you must visit Transport Office to recover it.

Click on Personal Details to update your profile.

Now, update your Personal Details, such as your DOB, gender, blood group, and the nearby office(Receive service, so choose an office near you).

Enter your guardian’s information, name, and relation to you.

In other information, you need to disclose your education and occupation. But the important part here is to select if you “Have a Driving Licence?“

• If you select “YES,” you can upload your existing license details and use them to renew or add a new category. [FOR License Holder]
• If you select “NO,” you can apply for a new driving license in Nepal online and take the written driving license exam dates. [FOR NEW USER]

Update address in License

Address verification is essential, and you must update the correct information so that there is no mistake in the future.

• Permanent Address: Your actual address is usually the city you were born. (If not migrated).
• Temporary Address: If you are from another city and currently living here.

Check your citizenship if you are confused. The backside of the certificate has your permanent and temporary addresses.

Update citizenship

Now, verify yourself by adding details from your citizenship or nagritta.

• Citizenship Number
• Citizenship Type
• Issue District and
• Issue Date

After this, you have to upload your nagritta of both sides. Click pictures from your mobile phone and then upload them. See the image below for clear information.

After this, you can fill online application for a driving license.
