You can apply for an Embossed number plate in Nepal through an online application by following these 6 easy steps listed below.

- Fill out the Vehicle registration verification.

1. Visit the embossed number plate registration page
Department of Transport and Managements Nepal has created a High Security Embossed Vehicle Number Plate subpage for online registration.
The first step is to visit the official Embossed Number Plate Form Page to start your online application.
2. Fill out the Vehicle registration verification.
In the second step, you will be asked for your vehicle’s Registration Number and Date. If you don’t know these details, then you can find these details in your Blue Book | Bill Book.
3. Mobile number and Email verification
In the third step, verify your mobile number; using a personal phone number is recommended.
- Enter your mobile number
- Then, click on send SMS
- You will receive a code
- Now, enter the code and click on continue.
This is an important step as all future information will be sent directly through SMS to your mobile phone.
Email verification is optional; you can skip it if you don’t want to verify it.
4. Enter Vehicle information (Model)
After verifying your mobile number, the fourth step is to provide all the information about your vehicle. You will find this information if your Bill Book or Blue Book; fill it out accordingly.
- Date of manufacture
- Name of the vehicle manufacturer
- Model of vehicle
- Engine model
- Engine/Electric model number
- Frame/Classic number
- Weight in KG and
- Engine Displacement (CC)
As you’ve already submitted your vehicle’s registration number and date, you do not need to edit that.
5. Ownership verification
Now, on the fifth step, you have to verify that you are the lawful owner of the vehicle. You need to provide the necessary details and identification.
You will see 2 ownership options; choose one which suits you the best.
- Individual – Owned by a person for personal use (Private).
- Organizational – Owned by Company
If the Bike or Car you own is purchased on loan, you need to provide the Bank Name through which it was bought.

6. Submission
In the sixth step, check all the details you provided thoroughly. Make sure all the information you’ve uploaded is correct.
If it has no errors, then click on Submit.
7. Download, print, and Submit it on TMO
This is the final step or process for online registration in Nepal. After this, you have to download and print it.
The online part is over. Now take the printed form in your TMO (currently available in Bagmati and Gandaki regions only).
