Types of mutual funds in Nepal
Open Ended
An open-ended mutual fund in Nepal is a type of mutual fund that is continuously available for purchase by investors. This means there is no limit to the number of shares that can be issued, and investors can buy and sell shares of the fund at any time.
Open-Ended Mutual funds in Nepal are not traded in Nepse. The net asset value (NAV) determines the fund’s price.

Close Ended
A closed-ended mutual fund has a fixed number of shares issued during its initial public offering (IPO), which are then traded on a stock exchange like a regular stock.
Unlike open-ended mutual funds, investors cannot buy or redeem shares directly with the fund company. Instead, they must buy or sell shares on the secondary market in Nepal (NEPSE), just like any other stock.
The price is determined by supply and demand in the market, and it can trade at a premium or discount to its net asset value (NAV).
